Mary Poulos

1926-2009

Mary Poulos of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away on July 30 at the age of 82.

She was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Youngstown, Ohio.

She is a member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Scottsdale and St. Constantine and Helen Orthodox Church in Cheyenne.

As a real estate broker she was also an active member of the Wyoming Board of Realtors and the Cheyenne Board of Realtors. Mary was also a member of the Federated Women’s Club, Arizona Cretan Club, Philoptochos Society, as well as the Daughters of Penelope.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Poulos; and brother, Jim Pantels.

She is survived by her son, Steven H. Poulos (Catherine) of Scottsdale; brothers, Gus Brown and Bill Pantelopoulos; nephews, C. Gus Crick Pantelopoulos, Jonathon Pantelopoulos, George McCoy, Mike Poulos of Rock Springs and Fr. Ted Pantels; nieces, Pam Estelle McCoy, Rebecca McCoy, and Chrissy Poulos; and her grandchildren, H. Michael and Steven R. Poulos.

Graveside services and interment will be 3:30 p.m. Monday in Beth El Cemetery.

After the services, a reception will be held at Little America in the Cheyenne Room.

Donations can be made, in her name, to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Building Fund, 8202 E. Cactus Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85260.

Ashli A. Garton

1989-2009

Ashli A. Garton, 20, of Franklin. Mass., and formerly of Orange, Mass., died July 25 at Boston Children’s Hospital, following an illness.

She was born on April 18, 1989, in Denver. She moved to Massachusetts from Cheyenne at the age of 9. Ashli had graduated from Franklin County Technical School in Turners Falls and later attended Bunker Hill Community College.

Ashli was known to be a fierce advocate for any cause, but especially for Easter Seals and BAGLY- Boston Area Gay, Lesbian Youth.

She would fight like a warrior for fairness and justice.

Ashli loved being on the computer and chatting with her friends as well as photography and never let her battle with osteogenesisimperfecta slow her down
